Specification Sales Representative – Central US
SUMMARY:
Position is intended to create sales opportunities through the use of technical knowledge of the markets, customers and products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Establish contacts, relationships and opportunities with specification engineers and design build contractors. The goal is to establish specification of Intermatic products on projects through those engineers and contractors.
- Establish contacts, relationships and opportunities with OEM Accounts, Facility Managers, National Chain Retail Establishments, National Chain Hospitality & Restaurant Accounts and End Users in the Electrical and HVACR markets. The intent is to train decision makers on the technical merits of Intermatic products and establish specification opportunities with national visibility.
- Gain and maintain a technical knowledge of Intermatic products specific to all industries.
- Develop and execute short, and long, range goals which are aligned with overall business objectives in collaboration with both US Sales Manager and respective Zone Manager(s).
- Responsible for training of customers, agents and Zone Managers as directed by the US Sales Manager.
- Provide strategic input into market changes in solutions and gain competitive intelligence that will support overall sales acumen.
- Work with existing sales team to build, develop, and manage strategies to ensure goals are met and initiatives are successfully implemented.
- Applies knowledge and experience to balance day to day tactical and long-term strategic objectives.
- Establish presence in all appropriate associations, affiliations and/or participate in knowledge- based certifications in the various industries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (business, marketing, or engineering) preferred
- 5+ years of sales experience in the electrical industry
- Technical background in electrical controls or similar products.
- This position requires a combination of technical “Know how” and the ability to communicate well with multiple levels of decision-making personnel
